Filling In Words

Some days it feels as though I’m given a limited number of words to use. Today’s quota needs to go into sermons for the weekend. Thankfully, other people have been writing wonderful stuff, so I’ll share some here.

A new metaphor for privilege is taking the Interwebs by storm. I’m all for new metaphors that help explain the notion of race/gender/sexuality privilege in ways that are helpful. He nailed it.

Ah, the Mommy Wars (patent pending by some big media company, I’m sure). Isn’t it amazing what the inner critical voices fueled by big media money can do? Wouldn’t it be amazing if all that energy went into, say, reforming the foster care system? RageAgainstTheMinivan thought so.

I’m not much of a poetry reader, but love this poem from Billy Collins about poetry. Its in my mind this week as I move towards the sermon(s). Time to get back to that!
